|Brandy Branch Highlights|
DCBC Tournament Brandy Brach Story - Surprisingly only 2 bass clubs where on the little steamy Lake Brandy Branch for the 014 tournament season kick-off. The overcast and slight north/northeast winds along with colder than normal water temperatures challenged 17 DCBC members. The lack of sun kept the weights down as it made it difficult to bed fish. Brandy Branch yielded 55 keeper bass totaling 137.63 lbs. on a variety of patterns including rattle traps, Carolina rigs, split shot rigs and crank baits with soft plastics being the choice of most anglers in watermelon, watermelon red and baby bass. Paul Starnes topped the field and took the early lead in the 2014 AOY chase with a personal best 5 fish limit totaling 16.79 lbs. Second place went to a old/new member Carl Farmer fishing as a non-boater with a five fish limit weighing in at 14.29 lbs. Dennis Hastings finished 3rd with a 5 fish limit tipping the scales at 13.16 lbs. Big Bass honors went to Duane Crenshaw with a nice 5.60 lb. bass.
