Ray Roberts Highlights

Story - Mother nature continued her wrath for the fourth tournament of the 2013 DCBC season as she made the wind blow on Hubbard Creek reservoir. The tournament started at 6:15 AM with a gusty southwest 20-30 MPH winds and bright blue bird skies. 8 DCBC members took to lake Hubbard Creek which only yielded 1 limit of bass with all 23 bass released back into the lake. The high winds and low lake level positioned the fisherman more than the fish but a few members always figure them out.  Calvin Rhodes had a 4 fish sack tipping the scales at 17.37 lbs. for 1st place anchored by the seasons big bass at 9.72 lbs. which came on a buzz bait. Derk Arnold strengthened his hold on the 2013 AOY points chase with a 2nd place limit of bass weighing in at 10.41 lbs. Taking third place was the club’s youth director Aaron Kint with 3 fish totaling 7.85 lbs.

The accommodations at JA Ranch was a fun and affordable way to hang out with the club members.  Big thanks to Gene for setting it up and Derk for cooking!

The club will venture west of I-35 for the 2nd time this year to Eagle Mountain.

Denton County Bass Club sponsor Manley Rods awarded - Derk Arnold with a MRF system to be added to a rod of his choice.
